Whew, what a week! Sunday was a nice day, but Monday thru Thursday we've gone on the wonky-ville rollercoaster. Mom's neurologist has had her on Excelon 1.5 mg, twice daily for the last few months. It's supposed to help with her cognitive impairments (aka, dementia) but it doesn't seem to be making a dent in it. So Dr. Sanders wanted her to up the dosage in weekly increments until she was up to 6mg a day. However poor mom just couldn't hack it... it made her sick and faint and spiked her blood pressure.
So, after a few phone calls to her Dr. we made the decision to go back to her original dosage. I was really hoping that the Excelon was going to be the answer, but it looks like that's not going to be the case.
Is there an alternative?
